Maharashtra signs MoUs worth Rs 45,900 cr on day 1 of WEF

Maharashtra has secured investments worth approximately Rs 45,900 crore on the very first day of Annual Conference of World Economic Forum which is currently underway at Davos, Switzerland, said the minister of state industries Uday Samant.

This investment could provide direct employment to minimum 10,000 people in the state, as stated by Samant on Monday.

"Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is in Davos this morning (Monday) to attend the annual gathering held by the World Economic Forum and he went to Davos to see the Maharashtra Pavilion prepared at Davos.

"In the Maharashtra Pavilion, an impressive showcase of the development that the State has made will be displayed and MoUs will be signed with major sectors," said Sawant.

"In the presence of the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde MoUs were signed today with various firms and as a result of this, over 10,000 young people will have jobs," he added.

They signed the MoU by the presence of the Chief Minister Shinde and Minister Uday Samant. They were joined by the Principal Secretary Harshdeep Kamble, MIDC CEO Vipin Sharma as well as other dignitaries.

Davos WEF will continue until January 20. Davos WEF will be in session until January 20.
